Entries are invited for the 2018 Guardian and 4th Estate BAME short story prize. The winner will receive £1,000, a one-day publishing workshop and online publication. The competition, now in its third year, is for unpublished short stories up to 6,000 words by unpublished, unagented BAME writers. Entry is free; only one entry per writer. Deadline is 1 June. The Society of Authors will be moving into new premises in Bedford Row, Bloomsbury, in March next year. The SoA says that the move into larger premises will be transformational and usher in a new era for the Society and its 10,000-plus membership.
Kathryn Berry from the University of Bolton won the Royal Television Society Student Award for her film Fallen Angels, which looks at recovering addicts finding new meaning through dance.
