Shamim Sarif is an award-winning novelist, screenwriter and feature film director, all of which she approaches with passion and enthusiasm. She is also an accomplished speaker, and has taken part in events worldwide including London, New York, India, Israel and Germany.

Writing fiction was the beginning of her hugely successful career and her first novel, The World Unseen, won two awards – the Pendleton May First Novel Award and the Betty Trask Award. She then wrote the screenplay of the book and directed the subsequent film, which went on to win another 23 awards internationally.
