Looking for a fresh start after her divorce, Jayne Hazelton quickly put an offer on the Victorian semidetached house she viewed in 2012. Not only was it in the same town that she was looking to stay in but, laid out over three floors, it was ideal for herself and for her two children, both in their early twenties who were going to live with her. ‘I wanted to find a house that was big enough for the three of us not to be living on top of each other, but wouldn’t be too big for me when they move out in the next few years,’ Jayne explains. ‘Having a bedroom up in the loft makes the house feel spacious and we’re not all under each other’s feet.’
