Blockchain is not a passing fad. According to Matthieu Duncan, CEO at Ostrum Asset Management, this technology may lead to the greatest disruption that the asset management industry has experienced in many decades. Blockchain technology will change this very significantly.

What is blockchain technology?

Blockchain technology is commonly known as Distributed Ledger Technology. It can be described as a database (public or private), shared by different users, using pre-existing technologies (encryption, peer peer to exchanges), that provides users with security, data integrity, records of all transactions, and real time updating and where any update of the data is distributed instantly without the intervention of a central authority.
