The all-rounder

Starting working life as a chef onboard super yachts, Robert Shepherd has undergone an almighty career progression, with his passion for the world of yachting, and his unending commitment to customer service, having elevated him to President of Edmiston’s New York office, and a partner in the company.

Robert is a self-proclaimed all-rounder: “I do sales, I do charter, I do yacht management. I do several different jobs.” Throughout our interview, it is this versatility that resonates, this fundamental commitment to the customer, the client, the seller and the buyer to offer them the service that they ask for. No matter what this may entail.

This level of attentiveness is not necessarily the industry standard—it’s something that has been pioneered by Robert, out of his New York office, and is an art which he continues to refine. “We do things a little bit differently in Edmiston America. It’s a full-service yachting business.” Robert explains, “you can call me to charter boats, you can call me to sell your boat, you can call be to buy a boat, you can call me to help find crew for your boat.”
