Ancestry has a new D-Day collection including war diaries and photographs, sourced from 42 regiments around the UK.
The records feature fascinating, and sometimes harrowing, insight, such as accounts of the day from the HMS Belfast’s log. The collection aims to help tell the story of the day where traditional records are not yet available, as well as offering users the chance to discover the important part that their ancestor played in D-Day. Its 1858-1916 burials database has also been updated with 1.2 million records from the Liverpool area.
