MYTH BUSTING
It’s one of the most iconic and elusive bikes on the planet, with a back story so muddied that few people will ever know the full truth behind the Petronas FP1’s tale. But having managed to get our mitts on one, we were at least in a position to see if it lives up to the hype…

BEAUTY VS BRUTALITY
When it comes to MV Agusta’s Brutale 800 and Superveloce models, it’s fair to say that the Italian marque has crafted two insanely gorgeous and yet completely different machines, despite a wealth of cross-over tech and components. Which of these two weapons is most worthy of your wonga?

DUCATI’S HOMOLOGATION SPECIALS...
The Petronas FP1 is one of the finest examples of a homologation special, built from the ground up first and foremost for the race track. Arguably, if Petronas could have got around the hassle of producing a road-legal version, there’s little question it’d have been all the happier for it. But that’s not how it works, and if you want to compete in a production-based series such as World Superbikes, you need a homologated production bike to do so. No manufacturer knows that reality better than Ducati, who has made a habit of producing high-spec models in small numbers, oozing sex appeal on the street and offering a winning formula out on track
