If there was ever a problem with having a bike so brilliant, so well-finished. and so perfect in its box-fresh form, it’s the question of how you can add to it. That’s been a mind-boggler for me year-long with the SP2, relentlessly wondering what is worthy of joining the masterpiece, which comes so bloody awesomely built and spec’d from its Bologna base that there’s not much of a need to go fettling.Consumables aside, the Ducati spent most of last year completely standard, until the need to go changing it was enforced by my craving to take it on track. As any of you who likewise enjoy going round and round on circuits to pass the time will know, lever guards are a must nowadays – or, at least, that is to say that front brake levers require covering to meet the H&S requisites of most UK circuits… so I went in search of one. But not just any old lever guard; I wanted one that would be worthy of a place on the bike. I didn’t have to look far.
