I have done many incredible projects in my life, but Fifty Four mag tops it for me.
When I held the first issue in my hands, I was filled with so many emotions. I cried, I laughed, I jumped (yes, I did!). I sat confused, for a moment. Like, how did this really happen? I wished I could share my pride and excitement with my father who isn’t here to celebrate with me, but always used to tell me, “Create your own legacy, Mwai.” Suddenly, I was filled with a deep contentment: that is exactly what we’re doing. We’re creating a legacy for our generation and the ones to come.
I’m filled with immeasurable hope, which is timely because this second issue is all about hope for Africa. In it, we share stories of courage, reconciliation, resilience, and possibility.
