This Autumn & Winter 2014 issue of ArtReview Asia is hit by ‘Biennial Fever’, featuring interviews with the curators of the season’s biggest events: Charles Esche on the São Paulo Bienal, Jessica Morgan on the Gwangju Biennale and Nicolas Bourriaud on the Taipei Biennial , alongside chief curator Anselm Franke’s notes on the Shanghai Biennale. Complementing this is a conversation with philosopher Graham Harman on the Speculative Realist theories influencing today’s curators. The cover is dedicated to Korean artist Lee Bul, whose work looks to the failed utopias of the past to create disturbing visions of the future.
