Such facilities remain a perennial favourite among modellers as they can be tailored to suit any size of layout and allow a collection of locos to be shown off to advantage.
Options for modelling depots have expanded greatly in recent years thanks to the emergence of 3D printing and laser cutting with a raft of small suppliers now offering kits for an assortment of different styles of depot buildings and ancillary structures, along with all sorts of detailing parts to bring that all important realism to a layout - and a key aim of Modelling British Railways Diesel Depots is to provide inspiration.
