With our ever-present iPhone, our collection of photos grows day by day. We may also have photos scattered in folders on our Mac, or even on external drives. ACDSee Photo Studio 10 is a Digital Asset Management (DAM) app that is designed to help you organise your quickly growing collection of images so that you can find, edit and share your favourite shots more easily. If you want to use ACDSee to organise and edit photos that are stored in your iPhone’s Photos Library then you can download the free Mobile Sync app to your iPhone. You can then use the app to select specific images on your iPhone and transfer them to the ACDSee catalogue on your Mac.
ACDSee Photo Studio 10’s interface is divided into workspaces so you can focus on various tasks. The Manage workspace provides typical asset-management tools such as the ability to assign star ratings and colour labels. You can then use filters to find images that match a wide combination of criteria (such as five-star images with a green label that have the keyword ‘woman’). Assigning keywords can be a time-consuming task so ACDSee Photo Studio 10 provides pre-populated keyword sets, such as Landscapes or Portraits. Click on a particular keyword in a set (such as Fashion or Lifestyle) and it will be instantly assigned to a selected photo (or group of shots).
