Iwas 18, 19, and my friends and I [in Paris] were listening to English and American music, T.Rex, Bowie, The Rolling Stones, The Cure, Television, Sisters Of Mercy… Then suddenly, we all discovered Serge Gainsbourg. For me, Étienne de Crécy, Alex Gopher, all French musicians of my generation, this was a really important moment, because for the first time we had our own amazing music and our own genius.
