This month we’re featuring a cover shot by master photographer Rankin no less, and it’s taken from a major new show that’s just opened in Germany that features some of his most telling portrait work from the past fifteen years. In a revealing interview Rankin tells us how he approaches studio sessions that have included the likes of HM The Queen, David Bowie and The Rolling Stones, and the technique he uses for putting his subjects at ease and getting them to collaborate on producing the very best images possible. Tips from the top that are not be missed! We’re also featuring a remarkable set of wildlife images from some of the world’s top exponents, who all feature in a book ‘The New Big 5,’ whose purpose is to highlight the top five species that people want to photograph rather than hunt for trophies. The instigator of the project is Graeme Green, a wildlife photographer himself, and he’s explaining why it’s so important to raise awareness about the many species that we’re now at severe danger of losing if we go on the way we are.
