No, it’s not a surprise: we all love this marathon. It’s dear to our hearts whether we’re pounding down the Mall, or we’re pounding 26.2 miles around our own home turf with a London number on our chests. This is the big one: the one that makes us cry whether we’re running or watching it: there’s something very special about the London Marathon. It has inspired so many of us to run for the first time, and it has inspired so many of us to run further than we imagined possible. And in so doing, it raises huge amounts of much-needed money for charity. This really is the marathon runner’s marathon.
