Q My physio wants to use a laser on my injured calf – how would this work without causing damage to my skin?
A Your physio would use a low-level laser, which is a non-invasive treatment that generates a single wavelength of light. Low-level lasers are oft en referred to as cold lasers, since no heat, sound or vibration is emitted. Th is type of laser doesn’t create a heating sensation during treatment, meaning there’s absolutely no risk to your skin.
