I am experiencing that almost explosive feeling of pride. You know what I mean: when you feel your face swell and go pink with pleasure. I am overcome with the sheer beauty of the work that is being produced in the UK. Some of it is extraordinary, exhibiting curves of a delicacy and subtlety that could only have been dreamt of a few years back. In this issue you have only got to look at some of the work on display at the second Arts & Crafts Legacy show to see how contemporary bespoke makers are carving what amounts to a new movement by their use of forms and materials to produce pieces that put art right there into function.
