Foul-mouthed comedian, singer and drag icon Lady Bunny doesn’t give a fuck what you think of her. Whether it’s politics, gender, sexuality or even abuse, she treads a little closer to the line than most. And as she packs her bags to leave her residency at New York’s world famous Stonewall Inn to bring her new show Trans-Jester to British audiences, we know she’s bound to ruffle more than a few feathers. With her razor-sharp tongue and towering blonde her making a beeline for London, strap in, boys… the Bunny boiler returns!

“I was listening to Donald Trump who’s the king of political incorrectness,” squeals Lady Bunny. Throughout the course of our chat, she can’t mention the 45th president’s name without casting a jibe in his direction.

“He referred to us as ‘the LGBTQ community’, and I was like, ‘Well, shit! I guess I really am less politically correct than him!’ I thought it was still LGBT. Now there’s L, G, B, T, Q, I, A, B, C, two-spirit and onward. I ask in my new show – what are we doing? How does a community that can’t name itself follow its agenda? It’s like we’re falling over ourselves to be so perfect and not offend anyone.”

Bunny arrives in London this February to present Trans-Jester, a show that’s much more than just her usual club shtick from her residency at the Stonewall Inn. Playing host at the Soho Theatre, she’s quick to point out there’s no uplifting finale – but it has a message of some form hidden away.
