Gears of War 4 The Gears of War saga delivered big for Microsoft so it’s no surprise that the trilogy is getting a fourth entry, especially given the ground lost to the PS4 this generation. So far, so more of the same as the game engineers a situation which sees the big ‘orrible alien beasts from the first three come back for more. But, if it ain’t broke and all that, and if there’s one thing Gears Of War can deliver on it’s bombast – and Gears of War 4 has that in spades. Out 11 October on Xbox One and PC. •

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition

This month’s do-over – and we mean that nicely – is a tarted up version of the absolutely essential Skyrim, the fifth entry into the lauded Elder Scrolls series. Promising little more than visuals befitting the PS4 et al, this still somehow feels like an essential purchase because no matter how great things looked the first time around, imagine them now! And besides, there was little wrong with the gameplay in the first place. Out 28 October on PS4, Xbox One and PC. •

About Gay Times

Our brand new cover star is the next great LGBT+ role model and one of the most important queer musicians of our time – it’s Mykki Blanco. In our exclusive interview, Mykki pulls no punches as he takes on the music industry’s glass ceiling for gay artists, talks candidly about his HIV diagnosis and explains why he doesn’t want to be the “watchdog” of the gay media. Also in your brand new GT, Olympic gold medallist Callum Skinner opens up for the very first time about his gay family life in an exclusive interview, while we also shine a light on how the government is helping victims of LGBT+ hate crimes. Plus, we have exclusive interviews with Ricky Martin, Broadway star Ramin Karimloo and Maggie Wheeler – aka Janice from Friends. Oh… My… GAWD!
