GT Porsche Magazine August 2012 Back Issue

English
56 Reviews   •  English   •   Aviation & Transport (Automotive)
In the August 2012 issue of GT Porsche we continue our look at one of the most iconic Porsches every made: the 911 Turbo. This month it is the 964-Series Turbo that comes under our spotlight, said by many to be the last of the genuinely scary 911s Andrew Frankel looks back at what made this 911 such a bad boy Porsche.
We’ve also a hat full of first drives, from the new Cayenne GTS and Boxster 2.7 to Speedart’s take on the 991 Carrera S with its SP91-R. This month we have also asked four of GT Porsche’s contributors to name their perfect pair of Porsche race-cars, with one a money no object fantasy, the other a Porsche that they could tow, or drive to the circuit and that requires nothing more than a jerry can of fuel and a roll of spanners to run it for the weekend. They’ve made some fascinating choices. We’ve also enjoyed Porsche’s Silverstone Driving Centre behind the wheel of a 3.2 Carrera as we took part in their Classic YouDrive@Porsche event.
On top of all this, we’ve the thrills and spills of the GT Porsche fleet, our intrepid reporter Steve Wright enters his 356 into it, and his first motor race and we’ve a look back at all the action from Le Mans. Plus we the latest news and great insight from columnists this month: Jethro Bovingdon, Colin Goodwin and Peter Morgan.
