You could lower your cholesterol by up to 25% with a combination of diet changes. Nutrition editor Amanda Ursell has the figures to know

The proportion (at least) of people who have inherited high cholesterol: familial hypercholes terolaemia (FH).

This means they’ve inherited a gene that causes high cholesterol, especially high LDL cholesterol (see box, opposite). Medication will be prescribed, along with diet and lifestyle changes.
