Research from McGill University in Montreal found employees often behave inauthentically to match their employer’s culture – but the result is they feel uncomfortable expressing themselves. ‘When people are true to themselves, they’re more likely to feel connected to work, which can enhance personal wellbeing and work performance overall’, says associate professor Patricia Hewlin.
