Natural BORN HEROES

More of us than ever are ditching lab-made chemicals for plant extracts in our beauty products – here are our top natural ingredients that should feature in your cabinet

Once upon a time, the back of our shampoo bottles read like a foreign language, but recently ingredients such as coconut oil, aloe vera and lavender have been cropping up in popular cosmetics.

Natural ingredients, defined by trichologist Sally- Ann Tarver as ‘herbs, essential oils, plant oils, plant or animal-based proteins which are not chemically synthesised’, are big news, with 37 per cent more of us buying more natural and organic cosmetics than the previous year, and 49 per cent favouring products with an easy-to-understand ingredients list.
