KIT KAT SISTERS
The musical legends Ruthie Henshall and Eva Noblezada get chummy at the Cabaret
Having been nominated five times for the Olivier Awards, winning Best Actress in 1995, the West End star Ruthie Henshall is confident in her abilities. But despite her success on the West End and Broadway, even she is not immune to moments of imposter syndrome. “It’s just part of it,” she tells HELLO!.
Ruthie notes that icons such as Dame Judi Dench and Dame Helen Mirren have paved the way for women growing older in the spotlight.
Now, in her 40th year in showbusiness, she is playing the formidable landlady Fräulein Schneider in an immersive production of Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club at the West End’s Playhouse Theatre. Here, she has found a kindred spirit in the American actress Eva Noblezada, who plays the legendary Sally Bowles, fresh off a run in the same role on Broadway. Eva married recently and her new husband, Reeve Carney, plays the Emcee.
