The Robert Burns Birthplace Museum in Ayrshire welcomes tens of thousands of visitors each year, many of whom have travelled a considerable number of miles to see ‘the most recognisable thatched roof in Scotland’ – that of the cottage built by William Burns in 1757, where his son Robert was born two years later.
Friends of Robert Burns Birthplace Museum is a registered charity whose objectives are to support the arts, heritage and culture by supporting the National Trust for Scotland with regard to their property, Robert Burns Birthplace Museum, and by organising, aiding with events, raising funds and encouraging donations
