After months spent compiling a special scrapbook of ideas for her perfect kitchen, Jodi Farnsworth finally got the chance to bring them to life in her home

A bit about me
I’m Jodi Farnsworth and I live in a four bedroom 1950s semi detached house with my husband Ashley and our kids, Noah, six, and Honey, who’s nine.
Before
My problem kitchen
Before the renovation, it was a dark and dingy kitchen/diner with only eight units, and each was overflowing with our stuff. It was cramped and we lacked space for food preparation and storage. It just wasn’t a practical space for a busy family of four.
How I made it work
We had to choose between moving or extending, and as we couldn’t find anything suitable to buy, we decided to stay put. We extended the kitchen out to the side and into the garden to create a spacious, modern eating and living area.
