‘I’ve used a lot of neutral colours for the walls, ceilings, woodwork and floors to provide a great backdrop for vibrant colours, as it makes them really stand out. I decided to go for a bold mustard yellow for the rug and some of the accessories, such as the knitted throw. I’m a big fan of yellow and grey together and so chose the grey sofa from John Lewis shortly after we moved into the house.’
‘I don’t tend to splash out on homeware such as cushions or throws,’ admits Claire. ‘I use them to inject colour and I change them up throughout the year depending on the season’
