Time to revamp!

Part 5:The Great Upcycling Challenge

You really don’t have to spend a fortune on expensive designer interiors in order to have a stylish home. If you’re on a tight budget, there are some amazing steals to be found in both charity shops and on the high street. That’s why we’ve called in the help of Juliet Bawden and Amanda Russell, both esteemed designers and crafters, to prove that you should never take an item at face value. With a little bit of love and care, you can transform the tiredest of junk shop finds into unique, beautiful, must-have pieces. Starting with their charity shop sweep, Juliet and Amanda picked up an old chair, a cellular blanket and a vintage cupboard that were crying out to be spruced up. Then a swift trip to the high street saw them nabbing some bargain china, plain bedding and simple notebooks from Ikea and Wilko. You can vote for your favourite project by tweeting #charityshopsweep or #highstreethack to @homestylemaguk, and tell us which project you liked best.
