It was thus unsurprising to find the South Pembrokeshire hounds are modern English, with only a few broken coats among the throng that met at Cresselly House, home to Hugh Harrison-Allen MFH. John Bartlett Allen kept hounds at Cresselly from 1789 and they have stayed ever since. Illustrious names such as Ikey Bell and Captain Ronnie Wallace, who judged the puppy
show every year from 1958 until his death, as well as today’s frequent judges Captain Farquhar MFH and Martin Scott, adorn the visitors book.
