‘Bring back brown furniture’ is the cry championed particularly by Jeremy Lamond of Shrewsbury saleroom Halls – and the latest retail sales figures support signs that it is indeed making a comeback.
Coverage of this in the Times helps (see left), with ATG editor Noelle McElhatton also emphasising the value of antique over flat-pack. While Lamond will no doubt be delighted by getting his message out in such style, he may be more perplexed by the fact that his surname had become ‘Lanham’ in the story....
