Islay market report

MORE than 2, 000 cattle and sheep were sold at Islay Auction Mart last Friday when United Auctions held its annual show.

Judging the various classes in the cattle section was George McFadzean, Wood-head of Mailer, Perth.

Champion was a Blonde Cross Bullock consigned by M/s Epps, Ardnave which later fetched £1,220. The reserve place went to M/s Mc-Millan, Ardbeg, a Limousin Cross Bullock which sold for £1,225.
