The Drift Inn in Lamlash has received an unusual thank-you gift from mem- bers of the Arran Coastal Rowing Club, who presented the owners of the establishment with a memento of their appreciation for their support.
In recognition of the Drift Inn’s continued sponsorship, to enable the development and repairs of oars for the club’s two St Ayles skiffs, club members gathered at the Lamlash bar and bistro to present proprietors Amy Rickard and Euan Henderson with a decorated oar for display in the restaurant. Club chairwoman Cecilia Paul presented Amy with a framed plaque explaining the significance and development of the experimental oar, which was made by the club’s resident boat building and woodcraft expert Rory Cowan.
