Monopoly game banks £270 for charity

The Isle of Arran Edition of Monopoly which recently sold for £270 during a silent auction.

A highly collectable Arran Monopoly game that originally sold for less than £30 when released in 2011 has been sold to a lucky bidder who purchased the rare and desirable board game for a record-breaking £270.

The previous record for the limited edition Arran- inspired game was £142 when a set sold on a popular online auction site after a fierce bidding war. Graham Chappell, of Arran Graphics, who originally released the version of Monopoly which features Arran locations, managed to purchase a sealed copy of the game and put it up for auction on his Facebook page with all proceeds over £70 going to a charitable cause of the purchasers choosing.
