Enforcement officers pay visit to Arran

Environmental enforcement officers, who are tasked with making communities cleaner, visited Arran last week and are set to return later in the month.

The officers spent the day patrolling the island, meeting locals and monitoring dumping hotspots. Able to issue fixed-penalty notices whether it’s a fly-tipper, a smoker throwing their butt on the ground or a dog owner not cleaning up after their pet, the team is determined to make a difference.

Councillor Jim Montgomerie, cabinet member for place, said: ‘The team works tirelessly across the whole of North Ayrshire and has done a fantastic job.
