Council makes commitment to help its children in care

NORTH Ayrshire Council has agreed to make its biggest commitment yet to help children in care.

At a recent meeting of North Ayrshire’s Community Planning Partnership, it was agreed that the council will guarantee fi ve modern apprentice places for care-leavers.

Chief executive Elma Murray has also agreed to be a mentor to a care-leaver and will help and support them throughout their apprenticeship.
