Ferguson lodge claim for compensation

Ferguson Marine has launched formal legal action against Caledonian Maritime Assets Ltd (CMAL) over the £97 million two-ferry contract, which includes the new Arran boat.

CMAL has confirmed to the Banner that it had received a compensation claim from the Port Glasgow yard which is understood to run to some 600 pages.

A spokesperson for CMAL said: ‘We have received compensation claim documentation from Ferguson Marine Engineering Limited (FMEL) and passed it to our lawyers, who are reviewing the contents in detail.
