Members of the Arran NHS team, including Arran Medical Group, has been awarded this year’s Gordon Nixon Award.

The award looks for individuals or teams who work in primary care within NHS Ayrshire and Arran who can demonstrate an innovative development or process they have set up. This could include joint working between the professions, the practice on its own, an individual, or other groups which have brought a real benefi t to the community, patients and/or the practice.

The winning innovation was their development of a week-long emergency training course delivered in January, which encompassed a wide range of age-specifi c emergency simulation training, to the team of GPs, hospital nurses, paramedics and others on the island.
