Dale Garland: says the differing standards for the 2018 Gold Coast Games are a bone of contention among Guernsey’s athletes

OLYMPIAN Dale Garland says athletes in Guernsey are frustrated by the “confusing” qualification standards for the 2018 Commonwealth Games on Australia’s Gold Coast which are due to be set by the island’s federation.
The Guernsey Commonwealth Games Federation (GCGA) are set to publish their set of times, heights and distances for the 2018 Games early this month. The Guernsey Press last week revealed that there were likely to be huge discrepancies between standards in different events.
