FORMER British 400m runner Jamie Baulch feels not enough is made of the past drug abuses of American sprinters.

Jamie Baulch: resents treatment of US athletes who have tested positive for drugs
MARK SHEARMAN
In the current climate, much emphasis has been placed upon the situation in Russia after it was revealed the country’s athletics federation, anti-doping agency and secret service had colluded to operate a doping programme of a “state-sponsored” nature.
But Baulch believes the US team, who had three athletes in the 100m final at the World Championships in Beijing who had failed drugs tests, gets off lightly when it comes to talk of its approach to doping.
The 43-year-old former world indoor champion said: “In the US especially, if you run 9.9 in that country, it doesn’t mean anything. It’s only if you run 9.8 or 9.7 that it matters. If you run a 9.9 you might as well work at McDonald’s because you aren’t going anywhere.
