Eilidh Doyle: ran her fastest ever season opener in the 400m hurdles
EILIDH DOYLE’S Olympic year got off to the perfect start as she produced one of 12 world-leading performances as Doha staged the curtain-raising Diamond League fixture for the seventh straight year.

Caterine Ibarguen: 32 competitions undefeated
The European champion, previously known as Eilidh Child, ran her fastest ever season-opening 400m hurdles with a 54.53 to come out on top of some of the athletes she’ll expect to challenge for podium places in Rio, including Commonwealth champion Kaliese Spencer and world bronze medallist Cassandra Tate.

Caster Semenya: comfortable running a 1:58.26 world-leading time in the 800m
The Scot, who finished second to Spencer at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games, was down on the faststarting South African, Wenda Theron Nel, after 200m but made up the ground on the top bend to give herself a clear three-metre lead which she held to the line ahead of world indoor 400m champion Kemi Adekoya in second and Spencer in third.

Eilidh Doyle: celebrating 10 points in the Diamond League opener
“I am very happy with my race. My training worked really well, although I was a bit slow in the start,” Doyle said.
Doyle’s fellow Brit Meghan Beesley finished back in sixth in 55.72.
In the 100m American Tori Bowie got one over on Dafne Schippers, winning in 10.80 to equal her personal best time.

Eric Kynard: American won high jump with 2.33m
The Dutchwoman took silver in Beijing last summer while Bowie finished third, but the 25-year-old US sprinter capitalised on Schippers’ poor start, beating her rival by 0.03 while Veronica Campbell-Brown was third in 10.91.
