Bag of Trix

Trixie Mattel had already proved herself one of RuPaul’s most accomplished queens, with success in TV, comedy and music. But now, after sashaying to victory in the third instalment of All Stars earlier this year, she’s a bona fide winner, baby

When Trixie Mattel first walked into the workroom of RuPaul’s Drag Race during the show’s seventh series, in 2015, no one could have anticipated the star she’d become just a few years later.

Originally from the Midwestern state of Wisconsin, she recently claimed the All Stars 3 crown after beating seasoned pageant queen Kennedy Davenport in the competition’s final lip-sync, in a season that was dogged by twists and turns to the format — instigated by Ru himself and the contestants.

Since her first appearance on the show, in which Trixie — real name Brian Firkas — was never really able to deliver on her promise of being a comedy queen, she’s worked hard across various sectors of the entertainment industry to establish herself as more than just a reality TV drag persona.

First, she struck up a comedy partnership with her fellow Drag Race star Katya Zamolodchikova, to create their own YouTube web series, UNHhhh, where they talk irreverently about a different topic each episode, from sex in drag and wet dreams, to Hollywood, religion, and getting older.

After turning them into viral internet stars, last year UNHhhh was picked up by TV channel Viceland and renamed The Trixie & Katya Show.
