I’ve been struggling with my appearance for the past few years. At first it was just checking in the mirror, but now I spend hours getting ready. It’s making me late for work. Is something wrong with me?

It sounds as if you may have Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD) and you should definitely seek help.

When most of us look in the mirror, we may experience minor dissatisfaction with what we see but we manage those feelings and move on. However, those with BDD let this take over their life and it can become crippling. Suf erers experience anxiety and can’t help but obsess over minor or non-existent flaws.
