Digital Subscriptions > Attitude > Issue 279 > A LETTER FROM THE EDITOR-IN-CHIEF

How do you go about running a magazine you’ve read since you were a teenager? It’s a question I’ve been asking myself since being offered the best job in the world a few months ago.

Since I actually started working in the Attitude office, I’ve discovered how passionate, hardworking and talented the team behind the magazine are. It’s also been interesting to meet so many gay men eager to share their opinions as readers of Attitude. I’ve been touched by the amount of goodwill towards the magazine and by just how much emotion so many readers invest in their relationship with it.

Lots of older readers talk about Attitude being like a lifeline to them when they were younger, maybe when they were suffering in the closet or struggling to accept their sexuality. To me it’s been more like a gay friend — and that’s the role I’d like it to play for all of you. A slightly older friend maybe, and one with a bit more experience.
