As awkward showbiz encounters go, Ava Max’s face-palm moment is a corker as she recalls accidentally tumbling into the bosom of one of the most famous women on the planet. “I once slipped and fell into Katy Perry’s boobs on the dancefloor at a party,” she squirms. “I wasn’t Ava Max then. I was just Ava. She probably doesn’t remember me.” The singer was thankful for the soft landing though, adding: “They were like pillows!” Since that all-too-literal run-in, Ava has become a shiny pop star in her own right and is the deserving recipient of our Breakthrough Award.
