Nicola Formichetti is fucking cool. He can also do everything, which would be annoying if he wasn’t so damn charming. (I muse as I sit in his jealousyinducing, beautifully perfect penthouse in New York’s West

Village.) A genius of most fashion trades and master of all of them, he’s done everything from designing, creative directing, styling and photography.

He is even a classically trained pianist.

His mind is the one that brought you Lady Gaga’s meat dress, the iconic Telephone video with Beyoncé, the creator of breathtakingly beautiful photoshoots for Vogue Hommes Japan, where he was fashion director, and contributing to many others.

After collaborating with Gaga, he embarked on a string of successful stints as creative director for French fashion house Mugler, Diesel, and as fashion director at Uniqlo, where he remains to this day, before focusing on his own successful label Nicopanda. Forever collaborating with the best of the best, such as Steven Klein, we sat down with 41-year-old Nicola to talk about his own brand, the Haus of Gaga reunion and diversity in the fashion industry
