Congratulations on your beautiful new book, Neetha! Can you tell us a little bit about it?
Thank you so much. Firstly, I want to say a big thank you to Baking Heaven magazine, for giving me the opportunity to feature my work in your magazines over the past few years. The portfolio of my published work in Baking Heaven magazine is what caught the attention of my publisher to feature my projects into a book!
Buttercream Petals book features buttercream flower piping as well as palette knife painting and it’s filled with a great collection of projects suitable for all levels of bakers. We start with the basics like our Basic Buttercream Recipe, colour theory, piping a variety of buttercream flowers, painting flowers, and a variety of cupcakes, one-tier cakes
and multi-tier cake projects. It is an all-round book covering a variety of buttercream skills, perfect for those who’ve always wanted to master the art of buttercream cake decorating.
Who is your new book aimed at?
Buttercream Petals book is perfect for anyone who’d like to master the art of buttercream cake decorating. It is beginner friendly as we start with the basics and slowly progress onto advanced skills like multi-tiered cakes with intricate designs.
What skills and techniques can we learn in your new book?
The book is structured into sections, each covering a particular skill.
It starts off with our basic buttercream recipe, a variety of cakes and cupcake recipes, basics like covering a cake f lawlessly, constructing tiered cakes etc. Then we move on to learning how to pipe and paint a variety of buttercream flowers. We have a range of cupcake projects like a cupcake wreath, pullapart cupcakes and a cupcake basket of flowers. We also have a great selection of one-tier cakes, two-tier cakes and finally, the advanced multi-tiered cakes combining both painting and piping techniques.
