The Jamaican fruitcake, aka rum cake or black cake, is a customary tradition at this time of year. There is nothing quite like a slice of it with a cup of tea to warm you up on those cold winter days! The rich, warmth of each slice, filled with the blended fruits and spices is the perfect wintery treat and not something any ordinary human being would be able to resist.
This rum cake recipe has been in my family for decades, having been passed down from generation to generation! However, even with the recipe, there are still a few tips that I need to put in place to ensure a perfect bake every time!
