7 benefits of being creative

1. Stress relief

Whether you have had a hectic day at work, got caught in traffic or have found yourself burnt out from doing too much – in modern life, it doesn’t take much for our cortisol levels to rise. Yet researchers have found that 45 minutes of creative activity significantly lessens stress in the body, according to a study published in Art Therapy: Journal of the American Art Therapy Association. And it doesn’t matter what your creative outlet of choice is – the point is to sit and let your imagination run wild to find release from whatever has caused you anxiety throughout the day.
