Committing to ethical and sustainable fashion just feels better. It feels great, actually. On the sustainable side, this may sound a little harsh, but the truth is, there is just too much sh*t coming from the fashion world. If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by the overstuffed racks of high street shops, you know what I’m talking about. There is just an enormous amount of ‘wear-once-and-ditch’ clothing out there – it’s made a clutter monster that not only creates a mountain of waste, but that robs us from the kind of joy you get from well-made clothing that you really, truly feel fabulous in. On the ethical side, which was actually my first real motivation, I just don’t want to feel bad about something I love so much anymore. The idea that right now in the world, there are thousands and thousands of workers breaking their bodies and souls for slave wages over clothing that will get worn once and then tossed (if it ever gets worn at all) is just not something I can live with. It’s not okay and it’s actually completely preventable.
