Sumptuous and surprising images take centre stage in our Winter issue as we reveal the winners of Black+White Photographer of the Year 2012! As well as all the winning and commended images, we’ve also got our selection of stunning photographs that didn’t quite make the cut but need to be seen.
This year’s competition garnered over 6,000 images from around the world and, taking our cue from this inspirational crop of modern monochrome we look towards 2013 in anticipation of the trends, exhibitions and books yet to come. Tim Clinch also looks at the bright side of life as he considers the importance of staying cheerful and leaving your audience uplifted.
